London Marathon - 22nd April

One of the biggest running events in the world, this event has been held every spring in London since 1981 and is one of the five top world marathons that make up the World Marathon Majors.

 

RHS Chelsea flower show - 22nd to 26th May

A famous celebration of the highest quality horticulture and a feast for the eyes and imagination, the Chelsea flower show is held every year in May, running for five days and receiving over 157,000 visitors. The event is run by the Royal Horticultural Society and takes place on the large grounds (11 acres) of the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, London.

 

Diamond Jubilee - 2nd to 5th June

2012 is the year of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, marking 60 years of her reign since coming to the throne on 6th February 1952. Celebration across London will include a river pageant on the Thames, a concert at Buckingham Palace and the lighting of 2012 beacons throughout the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.

 

Hampton Court Palace Festival - 13th to 24th June

Now in its 20th year The Hampton Court Palace Festival takes place in the stunning open-air Base Court of the palace with world class artists, spectacular fireworks and exquisite culinary experiences.

 

Greenwich and Docklands International Festival - 21st to 30th June 

This annual festival of outdoor arts, theatre, dance and family entertainment is consistently spectacular. Events take place at the Old Royal Naval College and other sites like Canary Wharf, the Isle of Dogs, Woolwich and Mile End Park.

 

Polo in the Park - 8th to 10th June

A three day celebration of international polo, lifestyle and family entertainment, MINT Polo on the Park has adapted the traditional rules of polo to create a high octane, dynamic sport. Six teams each representing global cities will battle it out over 3 days to win the MINT trophy.

 

Wimbledon - 25th June to 8th July 

The oldest tennis tournament in the world, and considered by many to be the most prestigious, The Championships have been held at the All England Club in Wimbledon since 1877 and are the only major tennis tournament to played on grass courts.

 

BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall - 13th July to 8th September

The Royal Albert Hall is host to the BBC Proms, a season throughout which 74 classical music concerts take place, in this prestigious 6000-person venue on the South side of Kensington Gardens.

                 

Frieze Art Fair - 11th to 14th October  

The Frieze Art Fair takes place every October in Regent’s Park, featuring work from over 170 galleries from around the world, providing a unique opportunity to see and buy work by leading artists.

 

London Fashion Week - September, dates TBC

London Fashion Week is hosted by the city twice each year, in February and September, and is one of the four major fashion week including New York, Milan and Paris. Expect action from the catwalk, front row, back stage and numerous after show parties.
